Our 100% solids epoxy chemistry is far superior to low-grade cycloaliphatic epoxy formulations that others would like you to believe are ‘good’ or ‘better’. They are not. Only our Adaptive Molecular Technology is specifically designed for ease of use and a lifetime of performance for your garage or commercial epoxy floor. Never consider a kit sold at home centers, or from an online company with no real address or facility, as there are many brokers and basement resellers masquerading themselves as ‘manufacturers’.

ArmorClad has taken the finest, military-grade epoxy and packaged it into a kit that is easy to apply and will give many, many years of long life and magnificent shine to your floor. No other company offers a superior garage floor paint like ArmorClad.

ArmorClad is VERY easy to apply. Everything you need comes in our kits, and NO special skills are required. Just watch our installation video, read the instructions and that’s it!

ArmorClad is extremely virtually maintenance-free (keep it clean and free of tire debris of course) and is so easy to apply that it can be applied by a 6th-grader! No special skills or techniques are required to apply Armorclad, and we include in the kit everything you need for a terrific job.

ArmorClad is a 100% solids formulation. That means that there is nothing to ‘cure out’ of the epoxy so the thickness you apply it at is the thickness it dries to! It will  not shrink as it cures. Lower percentage solids epoxies, cycloaliphatic epoxies or single component epoxies cannot even come close to the technical performance of ArmorClad.

Water-based ‘home center type’ floor epoxies are sub-standard and cannot possibly give the performance of ArmorClad. What will you do (and how will you strip off easily) your inexpensive water-based, thin, low cost floor coating when it fails (usually in far less than a year)?

ArmorClad comes in three standard sizes: 900 Sq Ft Bundle for 3 car garages, Master Kit for a 2 car garage up to 600 square feet, Add on Kit that is for a 1-car garage for up to 300 square feet. Kits can be combined to get close to your square footage and leave a reasonable safety factor.

All Master Kits include prep/etching solution, mixing bucket, mixer, cut in brush, rubber gloves, topcoat (optional), non skid additive, roller pad, decorative flecks, application squeegee, and complete instructions. Customer service and support is available M-F 9-5 EST with off hours email support 24 x 7.

ArmorClad Kits come in 7 standard color mixes or can be customized to virtually any requirement or color choices.

FAQ

You should use primer if your floor has been previously coated, your floor has a non-smooth texture, if you have grinded or mechanically prepared your floor, or the floor has uneven porosity. Priming also extends coverage of the ArmorClad epoxy by up to 30%, allowing the epoxy to cover more surface area. We additionally recommend use of our ArmorClad Primer for beige and lighter base color projects.

Yes. Pre-existing coatings need to be mechanically removed prior to use of the ArmorClad epoxy kit. The ArmorClad epoxy kit may form a bond on these surfaces (if left untreated) that is stronger than the bond of the old coating on the concrete. This could cause the old coating to pull away from the concrete, leaving an uncoated area. Leaving old coatings untreated can cause flooring failure due to entrapment of moisture. If you are unable to remove the old coating then please contact ArmorPoxy for recommendations on what to do next. Any previous coating remaining must be sanded or roughed up for proper adhesion. In addition, previously coated floors should be primed with the optional ArmorPoxy Epoxy Primer to even out porosity and to assure an even finish. Contact ArmorPoxy to purchase. Failure to adhere to this can cause coating failure.

Normally a slab needs 30 days to cure. It can be less or more depending on conditions. Perform a moisture test as indicated in the above instructions

Yes, no special surface prep is required if the additional coats are applied within 3-5 days. If a longer period goes by, then the area should be sanded lightly to create a rougher surface to which the ArmorClad epoxy kit can adhere to.

Filling the cracks may yield a smoother, more aesthetically pleasing floor since any liquid coating will not fill in cracks 100%. If you have cracks, our Epoxy Crack Filler kit works very well for hairline and smaller cracks. Urethane or epoxy caulks may also be used. Another idea is to hide the cracks with the decorative chips. Do not use silicone-type caulks or fillers, as they will resist the epoxy.

We recommend waiting overnight between coats. Once the final coat is applied you can put your belongings back on the floor the following day when the floor is cured enough to walk on. Vehicular traffic and heavy equipment/storage units should wait 4-5 days before being brought back onto the floor.
